Here's what our friends have to say...

“Reliable Operator in Borneo”

My wife and I, traveled in Borneo in August and we contacted Naturalis Expeditions for the trip. The correspondence via email was excellent with Luca and at the end, we really got what we asked. Sometimes even more.

We visited Kuala Lumpur, Kinabatangan River, Kuching and Danum Valley. All was perfect and perfectly organized. The trip was customized for us with private guide and vehicles. The level of the tour guides was tip top also the van were clean and comfortable.

Thanks Naturalis for this unforgettable trip and looking forward to contact you again for future trips in Malaysia

Hi Len

Thank you for a well organised holiday. Everything for us went like clockwork. It could not have been better. You have done a wonderful job.

Agustine was an incredible guide and a well accomplished cook (he could be a chef). He looked after every detail and made sure we were all very happy during the entire Maliau Basin trek. His organisation of the Trekking Guide (Brendon) and the porters (Pol and Sunni) was also first class. Agustine skills are far above most Australian guides. He is very accomplished.

The staff at the Gaya Resort were also very helpful and friendly - it was a great place to stay.

I will be referring your ABC tours to a few people who we know will also be travelling to Sabah in the near future.

Once again, congratulations and thank you and your staff for a wonderful time….

Cheers - Manfred, Janice, Heath and Corinne

“10 day tour of Sabah”

Hi Michela,

I arrived home from our big trip today but before heading to bed I just wanted to drop you a quick email. Thank you sooooo much for all you did to make our trip so memorable and fun. Every guide that came to us in Borneo was fantastic, interesting, so knowledgeable, passionate and always on time.

Their English was great too. Our accommodation was superb and the food and experiences were unforgettable. We loved our itinerary and especially loved your country and the state of Borneo. The local people are amazing too and the animalszz: crocs, orang-utans, proboscis monkeys, sun bears, turtles, hornbills etc etc were very exciting. So thanks so much to you and your team for all your help over the past six months, your organisation and correspondence was first class.

Sincerely,
Julie and Andrew.

Hi Michela

Just wanted to thank you for organising our trip to Borneo. We had the most wonderful time. We saw lots of wildlife and were very happy with all the accommodation and arrangements. The journeys to and from Danum Valley were shorter than we expected and both SI Tours and Borneo Rainforest Lodge have very comfortable vehicles.

We loved Abai Lodge, very simple and very friendly. Te Borneo Rainforest Lodge of course, is outstanding. Such incredibly beautiful surroundings and an exceptionally high level of service with some of the most professional guides we have ever come across. We went diving at Sipadan (first time we have been diving for over 20 years) and loved it. The dive centre there is excellent, very professionally run. There was no trouble whilst we were there although it was slightly odd to be in a tropical island paradise with so many armed soldiers & police!

Thanks again for organising everything so well.

Cheers

“Giava Bali e Gili Air”

“Viaggio in malesia agosto 2014”

Hi Len,

I just wanted to check in and say thank you for helping us arrange our trip in Kota Kinabalu. The entire team made it to the summit of Mt. Kinabalu and our photographer was able to take great pictures of the entire hike. We ran out of time to do the Via Ferrata but we have enough material for the cover and the inside feature.

I'll be in touch should we need additional information about ABC Tours. If you need anything from me, just let me know.

Kind regards,

Milva.

“Two great experiences”

I booked two tours through ABC tours, one in Kuching (Bako National Park - Tony) and one in Kota Kinabalu (Gaya and Mamutik - Kenny). We enjoyed them both and found the guides to be professional, entertaining and accommodating. I wouldn't hesitate to use this company again.

“Perfect planning”

From the 4th to 26th of March 2014 we had our vacation in Malaysia. The trip in Malaysia was organized by Michela from Abc-Tours. She handled changes in our programming in short times and we always had a response within days.
We started our trip in Kota Kinabalu. We went to Sipa Island, a short trip from KK, and to Kinabalu National Parc. It was our wish to go there, but this trip was too much travelling for what we saw.
After KK we went to Sepilok to visit the Rehabilitation Centre for Orang-Utan. It was a nice experience to see this animals. We spent 3 days in the Sepilok Nature Resort. Nice bungalow, good food, friendly personal and a beautiful surrounding. It’s a good place to stay and relax. It’s just some minutes to walk to the Rehabilitation Centre.
Next we enjoyed the Kinabatangan River Safari (4D/3N). We really liked it. Good guide, good lodge (Abai-Logde) and we had the luck to see animals like monkey, crocodile, bird, elephant and Orang-Utan. Fortunately it was off season. In season I could imagine that it’s a bit crowded on the river.
Our next station was the island Perhentian Besar. It’s a place for people who don’t like Bar’s and music at all places. We stayed at Abdul Chalet in a Beachfront-Chalet. We recommend only this Chalet’s. Don’t expect an accommodation with high standard but it is good enough for a relaxed stay. The beaches are beautiful and the water is clear.
We experienced no problems with all transfers, Hotel reservations or other bookings. We recommend Michela for a perfect organization. There is no point of complaint, thank you Michela.

Dearest Michela,

We are now back home for a week. Especially I have problems with the time difference (Jet Lag).
The rest of our stay was very beautiful. We saw a lot of animals, birds, flowers, butterflies…
Everything was ok. Thank you.
Did you already contact Nature Dream Travel, Sabei Aung?

DEAR MICHELA

ALL OF OUR GROUP ARE BACK TO THEIR RESPECTIVE COUNTRIES AFTER A HECTIC BUT EXTREMELY ENJOYABLE HOLIDAY.

YOUR GUIDES ARE KNOWLEDGABLE AND VERY HELPFUL AND PUNCTUAL. NORAINI IN KL, TING AND ONE IN MULU AND MASRI IN KUCHING ARE REAL GEMS. IF I HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY OF VISITING MALAYSIA AGAIN, I WOULD ASK FOR THEIR SERVICES.

ONE SUGGESTION I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE TO OUR ITINERARY -
WE HAD ALREADY BEEN ON A LONGBOAT AND VISITED THE IBAN IN MULU. THERE WAS NO REASON TO REPEAT THAT IN BATANG AI. YOU COULD HAVE PROPOSED SOMETHING ELSE.
ALSO, DUE TO WEATHER WE COULD NOT SEE THE PROBOSCIS MONKEY. YOU COULD HAVE HAD A SECOND OPTION.

ALL THE SAME, IT WAS A MOST MEMORABLE TRIP TO SOUTH EAST ASIA AND WE SAW WHAT FEW TOURISTS WOULD EXPERIENCE .

YOU CAN REST ASSURED THAT YOU WILL BE OUR TOUR ORGANISER FOR THE FUTURE NOT ONLY FOR ME BUT ALSO FOR OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS.

WARM REGARDS AND BEST WISHES FOR THE NEW YEAR.

SINCERELY

“One month in Borneo - expertly planned”

We spent four weeks in Malaysian Borneo (mid-September to mid-October) as part of our two-month honeymoon trip. For the first half of the trip we traveled around Indonesia independently, but as there was so much we wanted to do in Borneo we needed some specialist help to co-ordinate a comprehensive itinerary. As we normally plan our own trips, we were looking for a company that would cater for individuals and not just promote formulaic package tours.

Naturalis were perfect for our needs. As well as being able to organise the ‘must-see’ attractions in Borneo, Luca really understands the requirements of adventure travellers to get off the beaten track and immerse themselves in the country they are visiting. We had some initial ideas about what we wanted to do and Luca was able to both arrange these as well as suggest some other great activities that we may not have discovered, or may not have been able to organise in the time frame if planning on our own. It was really good to be able to work so closely with him in tailoring our itinerary. He provided some great advice, and our communications before we left the UK gave us a lot of confidence that the trip would run smoothly.

We did the following activities:

Maliau Basin - full loop (5D/4N) – Challenging but very rewarding jungle trek in remote area. Great outdoor adventure.

Mount Kinabalu (3D/2N) – Amazing views, a nice day hike up to Laban Rata, becoming more challenging from there to the summit.

Kelabit Highlands (4D/3N) – Authentic home-stay experience, off the beaten track.

Danum Valley (4D/3N) – Great variety of wildlife, guide was both knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The nature trails catered for all levels of fitness and this is a much gentler experience compared to the Maliau Basin, focusing on the wildlife rather than the trek.

Kinabatangan River Safari (4D/3N) – Abundance of wildlife and guide had excellent knowledge and spotting skills.

Sepilok Rehabilitation Centre – we were lucky enough to see so many orangutans in the wild but it was also really good to be able to see how orphaned/injured orangutans are being cared for.

Naturalis were fantastic in the attention to detail and involvement in making sure we were happy with everything. We were really impressed that Luca took the time to meet us on arrival to talk through our itinerary, called halfway through the month to check everything was OK, and also came to say goodbye the night before we left. We really felt looked after. The entire trip ran like clockwork, our driver was always on time and knew where he was taking us. Everything was very well organised. We had a truly amazing time in Borneo and we would definitely recommend Naturalis to others.
